Rc Simulator Packages to institution Radio operate Flying

Radio control hobbyists oftentimes use Rc simulator software to convention flying helicopters and planes before trying to fly new models in the field. Radio controlled helicopters and airplanes are tough enough to take some bumps, but-like full size vehicles used to ferry people-they can be severely damaged in harsh crashes. Thus, new pilots are often advised to convention simulator flying first to get the hang of a bird's normal handling characteristics. An Rc simulator is also handy to have when the weather prohibits outdoor flying. Pilots have several major options for flight simulator packages. In order of increasing cost, we have:

1. Fms. This is a free container ready straight through the internet for Windows 95/98/Me/2000/Xp systems. It allows you to fly a range of radio controlled helicopters and planes using a keyboard or other controller, whether a gamepad or a Usb port gadget like the Esky simulation transmitter which is built to look like a regular Rc transmitter. Most of the ready models are planes. One main drawback to Fms (Flight Model Simulator) is that it is not ready for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Osx. A second drawback for simulating helicopters is that the ground supervene is not reproduced very well in Fms. The former advantage of Fms, of course, is that is a very good way to get started to learn orientation and basic flying. This is particularly true if you are not clear whether flying radio controlled toys is something you will de facto enjoy and you don't want to spend much in a simulator. The graphics are not that tantalizing when compared to other packages, but the basic functionality is there and the price de facto cannot be beaten. Fms is without fail a flight simulator and not a game; there are no options for aerial combat or multiple pilot flying.

RC Helicopter

2. Clearview. The Clearview Rc simulator costs almost (Us dollars) and works with Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Xp, and Windows Nt. The graphics are without fail improved over Fms. Clearview includes many helicopters, planes, and one glider. Training modes are ready to help you fly in predefined patterns so you can get a feel for the controls as swiftly as possible. Clearview also allows water takeoffs and landings, which many other packages do not. Like Fms, it is designed more as a simulator than a game, but does allow multiple pilots to fly together. Flight recording is also available. multiple pilots, flight recording, water takeoff and landing, and training modes are not ready with Fms. A controller is not included with the cost of the software.

3. Heli-X. This java-based Rc simulator is designed specifically for helicopters. The cost is 49 Euros, or .67 Us. (The software was free in an earlier version, but not anymore. Version 0.9 can still be downloaded without charge.) It is one of only a very few Rc simulators ready for Macintosh Osx (64-bit Intel processors) and it also runs on Linux and Windows systems. Heli-X requires an OpenGl compatible graphics adapter and a Usb joystick controller such as the Esky 0905A. This is an clear selection if you want to simulate helicopters on a Mac, but it is not a good selection for planes or gliders since it does not comprise any plane or glider models. Heli-X currently offers cargo training as well, which is a fun feature to have. This allows some game-like functionality since you can pick up cargo, vehicle it, and drop it off at a designated target location. A drawback to the container is that models for Fms cannot be incorporated directly into Heli-X, since Heli-X uses wavefront format models.

4. Reflex Xtr. This container has versions ready for Windows Xp and Vista computers and is designed to be controlled by a radio transmitter. The Rc simulator is a very solid normal purpose container that includes models for helicopters, planes, and gliders. This software does not provide reserve for a gamepad, as Clearview and Fms do. Graphics for Reflex Xtr are top of the line in Rc simulation and it is an exquisite helicopter simulator, together with good modeling of ground effect. Unfortunately, it does not yet comprise water takeoffs or landings. The Reflex Rtr container features training modes, flight recording, and multiple pilots as does Clearview. The Reflex Xtr theory currently costs around 0+ Us without a controller.

To summarize, there are several good options for Rc simulator packages. The major factors to consider are, of course, price and feature set. Clearview and Fms are normal purpose simulators and Clearview is probably preferable if you are curious in helicopter simulation. Clearview also offers two beneficial features, training modes and flight recording, that Fms does not. Heli-X is newer and is currently the best selection for Macintosh Osx or Linux, but only if you are curious in flying helicopters. Reflex Xtr is superb normal purpose simulator for planes, helicopters, or gliders, but it is also the most costly container we've discussed.

The History of the Model Airplane

Each model airplane is a dinky piece of history. Soon after the arrival of the airplane, the building of model airplanes became a hobby for those old and young alike. Customers range from novice hobby model airplane builders to specialist model aircraft builders, governmental agencies, airports, museums, libraries and schools.

Model airplane building has been the introduction to aviation for countless youths in years past and continues in many lesser degrees today for the younger set. building a model airplane is a straightforward satisfaction for both young and old alike. Kits are for the novice to specialist model airplane builder. Make sure you crusade straight through Amazons widespread list of model airplane books and other products.

RC Helicopter

When most habitancy think of model airplanes, they immediately think of a nice dinky box with pieces that are put together, resulting in a model airplane that can be set on a shelf to be admired but not touched. The gift die cast model airplanes are so real you can virtually smell the jet fuel.

There are engines for every type of model airplane or helicopter you could come up with, and every one of them is handcrafted. A model airplane needs a vertical rudder to keep it bright straight. All flying model airplanes, just like real ones, have a town of Gravity that effects the planes balance and thus its flying characteristics.

Flying Model airplanes is a fun and educational hobby. Depending on your budget, and how serious you are about radio control flying, you can purchase an Rc flight simulator to institution on, but these are not requisite for a straightforward model airplane.

Gas Turbine Engines on Rc Toy Jets - How Do They Work?

A lot of hype has been going colse to the gas turbine powered engines found on high-end Rc toy jets. These new breed of Rc toys promise to dominate the skies in the arrival years since the interest on these newest radio controlled aircraft seem to be gaining ground. This is despite the fact that these singular types of toys also seemed poised to cause a huge dent in everyone's wallet. It appears now that Rc enthusiasts and hobbyists cannot seem to get adequate of the new gas turbine powered engines on toy jets. So what is certainly all the excitement about? How do these gas turbine engines on Rc toy jets work anyway?

For any decades, men have been fascinated by Rc toy planes and helicopters. They love to watch it lift off the ground, play tricks in the air, and perform a exquisite landing. Most of Rc toy planes in the past are propeller driven because they are seen to be the most practical arrival to make the plane fly. So it would be not surprising back then if you see a scaled down model of a jet fighter with a propeller on its nose tip. This went on for a long time until July 30, 1988, the first flight of an toy jet running on micro-turbojet engines was made with requisite success. From then on, micro-turbojets underwent a series of evolutions and finally, the contemporary gas turbine engines, which are being mounted on Rc toy jets that you now see, emerged.

RC Helicopter

Gas turbine engines on Rc toy jets work in a manner similar to that of real jet turbine engines. There are three divisions on the gas turbine engines and these are the compressor, the combustion chamber, and the turbine. The compressor is responsible for sucking incoming air and compressing them inside the cylindrical shroud. Extreme compression results in the heating up of air which then makes its way down into the combustion room where a fine spray of fuel, along with a glow plug, will be introduced in the area.

Just as expected, the fuel, mixed with hot compressed air and lit by a glow plug, will explode, forcing the exhaust gases out through the turbine and the small nozzle found at the rear of the jet turbine. This chain reaction produces the gigantic thrust that enables the Rc toy jet to take off and fly. Since the turbine and the compressor are associated by a coarse shaft, the expelled gas which turns the turbine is also the one that drives the compressor. This is why the gas turbines must be powered at the outset by an external source until the air inside the combustion room is adequate and adequately heated.

So you see, gas turbine engines on Rc toy jets work just like their real and full scale counterparts. It might just differ in size but the principle on how they work is basically the same.

oftentimes Asked Rc Helicopter Questions

Newbie Rc helicopter owners always have a lot of questions to ask about their new toy, so I've compiled this list of Rc helicopter often asked questions just for you! This list of often asked questions should acknowledge approximately all of your Rc helicopter problems or concerns and help you get the best Rc helicopter flying taste that you can hope for!

Is it hard to build a radio-controlled helicopter?

RC Helicopter

The short acknowledge is yes and no. When you're building your very own helicopter, you have to assemble the parts to make the helicopter, as well as measure the linkages and make sure everything's set just right. There's ordinarily no special work involved, like sanding, gluing or cutting and if you're willing to be inpatient and follow the instructions that come with it, you can have your Rc helicopter assembled in just a handful of evenings and be ready to fly in very tiny time.

Do they cost a lot?

It all depends on what type of helicopter you pick and the tool that you'll need with it. A basic .30 setup will cost you anywhere in the middle of 0-0, while a Turbine or even a .90 sized galvanic Rc helicopter setup can truly cost ,000, ,000 or more. It all depends on what you want.

How fast can they fly?

Most basic setups can reach 40-60 mph with straight and level flight as their top speeds. Some Rc helicopters that have been modified for competitions have been known to reach speeds of 100 mph or more.

Are they hard to fly?

In a nutshell, yes. As a matter of fact, they're known to be the most difficult radio-controlled car to learn to control, but don't let that turn you off from trying to learn to fly one. Anyone with measurement and perseverance can learn to fly one. If you want to fly one just for the fun of it, then you'll be able to fly it a lot sooner than if you want to try to execute complicated flips or other maneuvers. The key is to naturally have fun with the learning taste and the rest will come with time.

Does it take a long time to learn how to fly one?

Again, it all depends on what you want from the experience. Most citizen are able to accomplish basic hovers within a month or two by practicing 3 - 4 evenings a week. Within 3 - 6 months, you should be able conduct transmit flight and basic turns. It could take a year or more to learn loops, rolls, inverted flight and other complicated maneuvers. It just depends on the flyer, your level of interest, how much you custom and your desire to learn how to do it all.

Are Rc helicopter's dangerous?

They can be very dangerous, actually. You wouldn't think of it as a big threat at first glance, but the truth is that when the helicopter is running, those blades are spinning close to 300 mph. If they were to hit person or hit something, they could cause a lot of damage or even death. always be sure to fly a safe length away from people, cars, buildings, roads, etc. To forestall injury to citizen and asset and to avoid damage to your helicopter.

Definitions - Radio Controlled Hobbies

As a newcomer to the world of radio controlled hobbies, many habitancy are confused with the abbreviations that are used to divulge products. Here's a guide that will help you understand the terms that are often used. Radio Control, Radio Controlled, often abbreviated R/C or Rc:

Is naturally the use of radio signals to operate a device. Radio transmitters send a signal on a definite frequency to an Rc airplane, Rc helicopter, Rc boat Rc truck or Rc car. The receiving gismo accepts the same frequency signal from the transmitter to operate the device. Rc is used every day by industry, military, medical and law enforcement.

RC Helicopter

Ready to fly, ready-to-fly or Rtf:

Refers to a installation pre-assembled Rc plane, Rc airplane or Rc helicopter that is essentially ready to fly right from the box. Regularly the assembly is very minimal, (great for guys like me with two left thumbs) and once the battery is expensed you are ready to fly.

Ready to run, ready-to-run, Rtr:

Is used to define a radio controlled product that does not fly but runs on land or water. Rc cars, buggies, boats, trucks, tanks and hovercraft (I still haven't decided whether a hovercraft flies or runs) fall into this category. These items are installation pre-assembled with minute or no assembly required. An Rtr like an Rtf is easy to get started, just fee and go.

2-Channel, 3-Channel, and 4-Channel:

The radio or transmitter sends signals to the receiver settled in the Rc item. Each channel controls one function. For example, in a 2-channel plane, one channel would operate the motor speed, and someone else channel would operate the rudder. A 3-channel Rc airplan e would operate the motor, rudder and elevator surfaces. A 4-channel plane would have the same controls as a 3-channel plane with an added channel to operate the aileron surfaces. An Rc car, Rc buggy, Rc truck or Rc tank is controlled in a similar fashion. One channel controls the Rc car speed, while someone else controls forward and reverse and a third channel would operate left and right motion.

As you can see, it isn't that complicated. It just takes a minute time to get acquainted with the terminology we so easily banter about, forgetting that not everyone is well-known with the terms. So whether you are concerned in Rc cars, Rc tanks, Rc planes, Rc helicopters, Rc hovercraft or Rc boats the world of radio controlled hobbies has the collection and the products to get you on the road to fun and excitement!

reasoning literally About Monetary course - How "Quantitative Easing" Can Serve The public Good

Nervous pundits are predicting the end of American life as we know it, after Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke announced on March 18 that he would be dropping yet other trillion dollars in helicopter money - up to 0 billion to buy long-term government bonds and an further 0 billion to buy underground debt, with the Term Asset-backed Securities Loan factory (Talf) to be opened up for the sake of consumers and small businesses. The dollar immediately experienced its worst drop in 25 years, amid worries that the Fed's intervention would spur hyperinflation. Typical of the involved commentators expressing these sentiments was Mark Larson, who wrote in "Money and Markets" on March 20:

"This is Banana Republic-type stuff! And I'm not talking about the clothing store. Printing money out of thin air at the central bank, only to turn colse to and buy debt securities issued by your Treasury, is the kind of practice you typically see in emerging market regimes. We're essentially monetizing our country's debt and deliberately devaluing our country's currency."

RC Helicopter

Tim Wood wrote in "Financial Sense" on March 21:

"I'm now beginning to wonder if the powers that be are well in their minds trying to 'fix' things or if they are well trying to destroy the dollar, the free markets and maybe even the nation. To be honest, the latter is beginning to make more sense to me because well there is adequate brain in Washington to understand the inherent consequences of these actions."

Commentators on the Financial Sense Newshour recommend that the Fed's move toward "quantitative easing" would be looked back upon as the watershed event in the beginning of the end of the United States dollar. As explained in Wikipedia:

"The term quantitative easing refers to the creation of a pre-determined quantity of new money . . . In very straightforward layman's terms, the central bank creates new money out of thin air. It then uses this money to buy what is essentially an Iou [that is, to make a loan]. . . . Today the new money is ordinarily created electronically rather than physically printed."

The Federal preserve remains a privately-owned "bankers' bank," and it has not asked Congress's permission before enchanting in its new course of heavy "quantitative easing." The Fed has the capacity to generate money on its books and lend it to whomever it will. There is thus a danger that we may just see more money being funneled to those same Wall road banks that got us into this urgency in the first place. But while the Fed's new "quantitative easing" tool is fraught with risk, it also has some enchanting potential. This funding mechanism could be extended not only to replace the loans that banks have been unwilling or unable to make but to fund Obama's stimulus package - at tiny or no cost to the American taxpayer. What we are faced with today is not inflation but deflation. Lending has dried up not only from banks but from the "shadow banking system" - all those pension funds, hedge funds, and foreign investors who used to snatch up mortgage-backed securities - and that means the velocity of money has slowed. Money is sitting in bank accounts rather than being lent into the economy for buyer and homeowner use. The government's stimulus plan is meant to pick up the slack, but who is going to fund it? The Chinese and other foreign investors are balking at buying more of our debt, and the taxpayers are tapped out. That just leaves the central bank itself.

Thinking positively, in fact, we may look back upon this as the watershed occasion when the Federal preserve finally adjusted its focus and started to act more like a government central bank, one that advances "the full faith and prestige of the United States" for the advantage of the United States and its citizenry, rather than just for the bankers who have held the government and its central bank hostage for so long. President Obama recommend a move in that direction when he said on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on March 19:

"[W]e're taking a lot of steps to . . . Open up isolate prestige lines outside of banks for small businesses so that they can get prestige -- because there are a lot of small businesses out here who are just barely hanging on. Their prestige lines are beginning to be cut. We're trying to set up a securitized market for trainee loans and auto loans outside of the banking system. So there are other ways of getting prestige flowing again." [Emphasis added.]

The Fed now appears to be taking on the role of lender of last resort not just for its member banks but for consumers, businesses, and the government itself. Provisos and cautions aside, its new "quantitative easing" course at least has the inherent to be harnessed to serve the government and the people it represents; and that is a promising development.

Harnessing The Federal preserve For Federal Purposes

The key to this inherent is something that is tiny known or appreciated: the Fed now rebates all of its profits to the government after deducting its costs. [cite] That means that it is well the government that gets the advantage of the interest on the Fed's loans; and that is how it should be, since the U.S. Dollar today is backed by nothing but "the full faith and prestige of the United States." The dollar is the government's prestige - its promise to repay value for value, nothing more. If the government is taking the risk that prestige will not be repaid, the government should get the interest on the loans.

The Federal preserve was originally set up in 1913 by a powerful Wall road group to serve the underground banking system, and it agreed to return its profits to the government only under duress. This happened after Congressman Wright Patman, head of the House Banking and Currency Committee in the 1960s, peered closely at its operations and pressed for its nationalization. The developments were chronicled by Congressman Jerry Voorhis, who wrote in 1973:

"As a direct ensue of logical and relentless agitation by members of Congress, led by Congressman Wright Patman as well as by other competent monetary experts, the Federal preserve began to pay to the U.S. Treasury a principal part of its earnings from interest on government securities. This was done without public consideration and few people, even today, know that it is being done. It was done, quite obviously, as acknowledgment that the Federal preserve Banks were acting on the one hand as a national bank of issue, creating the nation's money, but on the other hand charging the nation interest on its own prestige - which no true national bank of issue could conceivably, or with any show of justice, dare to do."

The inherent for the Fed to acts as a truly "federal" central bank that issues loans to the public and returns the profits to the government has been there since the 1960s; but until now, the Fed and the management have not made much use of it. The Fed has used its dollar-issuing power only to the extent principal to supply the reserves to backstop bank runs. The vast majority of the money supply has continued to be created privately by banks in the form of loans; and as Congressman Voorhis observed, "where the industrial banks are concerned, there is no such repayment of the people's money" as there is with the Federal Reserve. industrial banks do not rebate the interest they receive, although they also "'buy' the bonds with newly created quiz, deposit entries on their books - nothing more." This, Voorhis maintained, was a violation of the Constitutional provision that "Congress shall have the power to coin money [and] regulate the value thereof."

Bernanke'S Greenback Solution

The Federal preserve under Alan Greenspan continued to operate in its customary role of serving the interests of its banker owners, but Ben Bernanke seemed to have other things in mind as far back as 2002, when he made his notorious "helicopter money" speech. The speech was made before the National Economists Club in Washington, D.C. On November 21, 2002 and was titled "Deflation: development Sure 'It' Doesn't Happen Here." Dr. Bernanke stated that the Fed would not be "out of ammunition" to counteract deflation just because the federal funds rate had fallen to 0 percent and could not be brought down lower. Lowering interest rates was not the only way to get new money into the economy. He said, "the U.S. Government has a technology, called a printing press (or, today, its electronic equivalent), that allows it to furnish as many U.S. Dollars as it wishes at essentially no cost." Note that he said the government (not the central bank) has a printing press, and that the government could print money at essentially no cost. The implication was that the government could generate money without paying interest and without having to pay it back to the Fed or the banks.

That fairly well characterizes the money created by "quantitative easing" today. The Fed rebates the interest only after deducting its costs, which are no doubt quite generous; but in 2008, it reported that it rebated 85% of the interest it received to the Treasury. Since interest on long-term bonds is now under 3%, that means the interest paid by the government is less than ½ % - clearly the best deal in town, particularly since the Chinese and other foreigners are now balking at buying more U.S. Debt. This is comparable to what Australia did in the 1930s, when it avoided the serious depression conditions suffered in other countries by funding public projects with prestige developed by its government-owned central bank at a fraction of one percent interest.

Not only are the Fed's loans nearly interest-free, but they are never paid back. The federal debt has not been paid off since 1838, when Andrew Jackson shut down the Second U.S. Bank. "Balancing the budget" just involves "servicing" the debt with interest. Money that comes from an interest-free loan that is rolled over indefinitely is essentially debt-free legal tender.

The infamous helicopter line in Bernanke's 2002 speech came in when he was discussing how the government's money-creating power could be used to cut taxes. He said, "A money-financed tax cut is essentially equivalent to Milton Friedman's celebrated 'helicopter drop' of money." Dropping money from helicopters was Professor Friedman's hypothetical cure for deflation. The "money-financed tax cut" discussed by Dr. Bernanke was one in which taxes would be replaced with money that was naturally printed up by the government and spent into the economy. He added, "[I]n lieu of tax cuts, the government could growth spending on current goods and services or even get existing real or financial assets." The government could reverse deflation by printing money and buying hard assets with it - assets such as real estate or corporate stock.

And that, for a Federal preserve legal next in line to become its Chairman, was a pretty radical suggestion. It was basically a Greenback proposal, the sort of government self-funding used by Abraham Lincoln to finance the Civil War. It was also the sort of money law endorsed by Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and William Jennings Bryan, the law used by the American colonists and demonstrated to be particularly flourishing in colonial Pennsylvania.

Reviving The Banking Model Of Benjamin Franklin'S Day

In Pennsylvania in the first half of the 18th century, the provincial government not only printed its own money but owned its own bank. Colonial scrip was printed and lent to farmers at 5% interest, and this money recycled back to the government as it was repaid. The money went out and came back in a circular flow, preventing inflation. This was quite distinct from what happened in those Banana Republics that used the power to print money naturally to pay off foreign debts owed in dollars. The invariable ensue was to request speculators to jack up the price of the dollars relative to the local currency, causing the currency's rapid devaluation. The Bank of Pennsylvania, by contrast, issued its fiat currency as loans for domestic use, loans on which not only the principal but the interest came back to the government. Since the provincial government had the power to issue the local scrip, it could issue some extra to meet its expenses; and this money filtered through the economy to supply the further sums needed to cover the interest on the loans. During the time this provincial law was in place, the Pennsylvania colonists paid no taxes, there was no government debt, and price inflation did not result.

What the Fed is doing today could be thought about comparable: it is generating the equivalent of debt-free government-issued colonial scrip with its "quantitative easing" tool, and it is advancing prestige for underground use, with the interest on the loans returning to the government.

The Case For Nationalizing The Fed

One major distinction in the middle of the Federal preserve and the bank of colonial Pennsylvania is that the Fed remains a underground bank owned by other banks. There is the fear that the powerful tool of "quantitative easing" could turn into a risky weapon in the wrong hands. A underground central bank can be driven by a small financial elite in underground boardroom meetings beyond congressional control. The power to generate money is a double-edged sword even for a government, but at least a government must rejoinder to the people in the public forum of a democracy.

That is true in theory, but we the people don't have much more operate over Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, a government official, than we have over Ben Bernanke. The Treasury's Troubled Asset Relief program (or Tarp) has been heavily criticized for enchanting "toxic" assets off the books of the culpable Wall road derivative banks and onto the backs of the taxpayers. The qoute is that government officials and Federal preserve officials alike believe that the only way the nation can have a functioning prestige law is to say enterprise as usual on Wall Street. This is not true. A public banking law headed by a truly federal central bank could supply all the prestige we need.

To preclude corruption and abuse, this law of money and prestige would need to be made subject to the sort of public monitoring and operate in case, granted by the checks and balances built into the Constitution. Stephen Zarlenga, president of the American Monetary Institute, suggests that the money law should be organized as a fourth subject of government alongside the executive, judicial and congressional branches. The Fed is acting like a fourth subject now, but without the public oversight of a true government agency. Congressman Ron Paul has brought a bill (Hr1027) to audit the Federal Reserve, and Congressman Dennis Kucinich told Congress earlier this month that he would soon be bringing a bill to nationalize the Fed. He said: "Banking is not a allowable function of the government, but oversight is. The Treasury group should not be outsourcing to the Fed its oversight responsibilities. The Fed, which failed miserably to oversee the banks, should be put under Treasury instead. It's time for the government to operate in the public interest, not in the interest of underground banks. It's time to stop bailing out banks and begin construction up America."

Note, however, that if the Fed is nationalized and it continues to issue prestige for the advantage of consumers, small businesses, and the government itself, it will well be in the banking business; and that, arguably, is how it should be. Our money law today is nothing more than a series of legal agreements in the middle of parties. "Credit" is merely an business transaction to repay over time. While underground parties and underground banks should be free to lend their own money or their investors' money, we also need the sort of "credit" that is created on a computer screen; and that sort of credit, as money reformer Richard Cook observes, is properly administered as a public utility. The dollar is backed by nothing but "the full faith and prestige of the United States" and should be dispensed and monitored by the United States. As William Jennings Bryan declared in his winning presidential nomination speech at the Democratic practice in 1896:

"[W]e believe that the right to coin money and issue money is a function of government. . . . Those who are opposed to this proposition tell us that the issue of paper money is a function of the bank and that the government ought to go out of the banking business. I stand with Jefferson . . . And tell them, as he did, that the issue of money is a function of the government and that the banks should go out of the governing business. . . . [W]hen we have restored the money of the Constitution, all other principal reforms will be possible, and . . . Until that is done there is no reform that can be accomplished."

The loans the Fed creates by "quantitative easing" are no more inflationary than the prestige created daily on a computer screen by underground banks. At least, loans used to be created daily by underground banks, until their capability to lend was icy for accounting reasons. The Fed's prestige factory has the advantages over underground banks' that (a) it is not subject to the lending freeze, and (b) its profits are rebated to the government, which finally serves the taxpayers' interest. Nationalizing the Federal preserve is the ideal solution; but while we are waiting for that development, the government can do the next best thing and tap into the very cheap, easily ready prestige in case, granted by its own central bank.

The helicopter has a futaba 401 gyro, JGF 500 brushless outrunner motor, 3 cell lipo battery, DX7 radio, and the head has been upgraded to all metal. I made floats for it for flying over water and in case of a forced water landing. I have landed and taken off the water with the floats and they work well. I made them with a plastic coat hanger and sections of float tubes. The video was filmed with a GoPro Hero2 (I had it strapped to my hat:).

Dead Cat turned into Remote Controlled Helicopter by Dutch Artist - Orvillecopter

Dead Cat turned into Remote Controlled Helicopter by Dutch Artist - Orvillecopter Video Clips. Duration : 1.77 Mins.

There's something that doesn't just seem quite right about stuffing a dead cat and turning it into a remote-controlled flying helicopter. Dutch artist Bart Jansen has done just that and debuted his creation, the "Orvillecopter", at the KunstRai ArtFair in Amsterdam at the weekend. Jansen describes the "Orvillecopter" - so named because the cat used was called Orville - as "half cat, half machine". Orville had belonged to Jansen and died after he was hit by a car. "After a period of mourning, he received his propellers posthumously," Jansen said. A video posted to YouTube shows the flying feline slowly hover a few meters in the air in a park, it's body permanently spread eagle with propellers on its front paws. Jansen teamed up with radio control helicopter expert Arjen Beltman after having a taxidermist preserve the pussy cat The "Orvillecopter" doesn't fly quite right, however, a glitch Jansen hopes to fix. ''He will receive more powerful engines and larger props for his birthday,'' Jansen said, adding that he hoped the upgrades will allow for a more ''steady flight.''

Spektrum DX8 - Helicopter Setup Tube. Duration : 23.65 Mins.

I'm not a pro pilot but after questions about making some videos how to setup planes and helis on my DX8 i finaly did the work. I left out to tell that Throttlecut shuts down the engine and is used for Nitro/gas engines. Throttle hold is used for electric and nitro. Hold makes engine just idle on nitros and cuts power for electric engine. These two settings must be asigned to different switches. You don't wanna cut your nitro engine during autos. This is how i do it and that doesn't meen it's right. But if there are somethings to add please post a comment with your tip. LeapPad Explorer v Vtech InnoTab: Which Should You Buy?

So what do the manufacturers say?

LeapPad Explorer

RC Helicopter

From the award winning educational toy company comes LeapPad, the studying tablet just for kids. With a built-in camera, and a library of 100+ games and activities, the durable LeapPad features innovative apps that inspire creativity and turn reading into fun and games. It's a new way to learn, a new way to play - a new way to unlock your child's potential!

Vtech InnoTab

InnoTab is a multi-media studying handheld combining educational games, creative activities and e-books on a multi-functional touch-screen tablet. Children can produce core skills in reading, spelling, maths, logic and creativity with the many included activities such as an e-reader, art studio, interactive globe, video player and photo viewer. Plus parents can download supplementary games and studying apps from their computer.

What features do they have in common?

Well first things first the price, both have a Rrp of 79.99. Whilst there may be some offers to be had these may be harder to come by as we get closer to Christmas.

They are both aimed at the same age market: 4-9 years.

Both come in two colours. The LeapPad is available in green or a purpley pink, the InnoTab in blue or pink.

Whilst the LeapPad is smaller in size they both have the same 5 inch screen size.

Both use touch screen technology. The InnoTab relies on the touch/motion technology for gameplay, app use etcetera, while the LeapPad also has a direction pad.

You can track children's enlarge for both tablets online.

Both use 4aa batteries. Although neither retailer promote the use of rechargeable batteries both tablets work fine with them, and this is likely to be a less costly selection as both can eat up battery power quickly. You could use an Ac adaptor with both, although neither currently has a recharging pack available.

Both allow you to buy the same app for separate consoles (great if you have multiple tablets in the house). Although LeapFrog limit their use to two consoles.

What are their differences?

The LeapPad has a built-in camera, the InnoTab does not. Whilst you can join together it to your Vtech Kidizoom cameras if you do not already have these it is extra cost and another item lying around the house. The lack of a built in camera is a real let down for the InnoTab.

However to make up for the lack of camera the InnoTab has two major features which the LeapPad lacks. The InnoTab can play Mp3s and downloaded movies (transferred to your computer to the InnoTab from former Dvds). Both features need the use of an Sd card which again is an supplementary purchase, but these are reasonably cheap now. The InnoTab would therefore be great for in the car, no extra Dvd player needed. The LeapPad will only play the downloaded app 'movies' which are cartoon based educational titles.

The LeapPad is more precisely customisable according to your childs' age. This is a great feature for multi sibling households, or just to adjust to your childs' level.

Whilst this will be covered in more depth in the next paragraph it's worth noting that the LeapPad currently has a much wider app and software range. You can use the same cartridges and apps as the Leapster Explorer used so there is already an existing library which is continually being built on. The software differs in price. LeapPad games are cheaper with a Rrp of 19.99 and lots of bargains to be had, the InnoTab software has a Rrp of 24.99, and as all titles are new there aren't quite as many bargains available yet.

The built in apps differ. InnoTab has an address book, calendar, notebook, calculator, apps lacking on the LeapPad. Both have drawing programmes (although the LeapPad doesn't have an already built in colouring app, you would need to buy the Mr Pencil game for this).

What software is available?

The LeapPad has a large software library available consisting of game cartridges and apps (e-books, videos, operation apps, flash cards, games and more).

The InnoTab library is small but growing.

By and large the software available is very similar. Both tablets have character software available for buy based on kids' favourites such as Disney Princesses, Dora the Explorer, Spongebob Squarepants, Penguins of Madagascar, Cars and Scooby Doo.

The LeapPad titles tend to be game based whereas the InnoTab titles are an e-book with smaller related games and activities.

So which tablet is for your child?

Largely the decision boils down to which you'd rather have: camera and video-recorder built in (LeapPad) or plays movies and music (InnoTab). Plus it is worth holding in mind that the Vtech software is more expensive at 5 more. (although the apps are similar prices for both generally varying in the middle of 3.50 and 7).

The items you currently own may also affect your purchasing decision, if you already have a Vtech Kidizoom the lack of camera with the InnoTab may not seem such an issue. If you already own a Leapster Explorer you will be able to use the same games and exchange the apps to the LeapPad.

Another issue to bear in mind if these are to be Christmas gifts is availability. Both manufacturers underestimated the tablets' popularity and many retailers are experiencing shortages for both.

Diorama Photography

You've spent years in perfecting your diorama or hasten layout but the pictures you take do not do it justice. To your mind's eye the figures look real, the buildings are correctly scaled and the information realistic. But the pictures you take make the construction look like toys, the shrubbery like plastic and the mood unrealistic. Most difficult are layouts in N (160-1) or Z (220 - 1) scale or dioramas smaller than 87 - 1 scale.

There are three types of pictures you can take: showing the whole diorama, showing a perspective of the diorama without the intrusion of peripherals (room walls, etc.), and cropped close ups of the detail. The most realistic is the perspective shot which shows nothing but the diorama. In order to depict this properly, you must cut off some part of the scene.

RC Helicopter

Assuming the diorama is on a table, position your camera on a sturdy tripod a few inches above the nearest angle so as not to include the sides of the diorama. Set the lens manually at the smallest F stop (which could be F11, F16 or F32). Set the camera at cleft priority (A) so that the exposure will be automatic. A point and shoot camera can be used but turn off the flash. Make sure the top of the photograph in the finder includes only the background and none of the room walls. If a background is not a part of your diorama, buy a poster board in a sky blue and tack it behind the diorama as close as possible.

The flash on the camera is not a good source of light for this type of picture. The source is too wide and tall, the fall off is a dead give away and makes the diorama look false. What is needed is a point source of light. You may use the light from a slide projector (without a slide) or a 150 watt clear incandescent bulb. Place the source as far as inherent from the diorama, ideally eight times the width of the diorama and about thirty degrees above the level exterior and to the side. The photograph must be made in a shuttered dark room or at night so that the only source of light is the bulb. There will be sufficient scattered light in the room to light up the shadows sufficiently. If the bulb source is close to the wall or ceiling, cover the areas near the bulb with black cardboard so that there will be no reflected light from colse to the bulb.

The purpose of this configuration is to supply normal looking, sharp shadows in your diorama photograph that will simulate sunshine. Set the camera color balance for incandescent light and later adjust the image file for a sunlight look. further light blue poster boards can be placed above near the ceiling and behind the diorama to reflect some blue tinted light into the shadows. Set the Iso at the smallest amount (50 or 80 Iso) for the most detail. Auto focus may be used but by hand focusing on an item one third the length from the near edge of the diorama will ensure good focus throughout. Experiment with slightly different angles and foreground interest. The lower you can get to the diorama, the more realistic the picture. Overhead shots tend to look like shots taken from an airplane or helicopter while low angle shots simulate a raised but ground level perspective. A wide angle lens is beloved for the further object to appear far away (scale wise) while a normal lens focal length will compress the length somewhat. Once your technique is down pat, time to come photographs of train layouts and diorama will be a cinch.

How to Make a Cardboard Box

Cardboard boxes can come in many shapes and sizes, you can have what I would call the most common box with flaps at the top and bottom to the more unusual die-cut boxes. A die cut box is a box which has been made using a cutting forme, basically you have a flat piece of cardboard and a cutting forme which has lots of blades mounted on a sheet of wood which presses out a shape in the cardboard and this shape folds to make a box. I suppose it is a bit like a cutting tool in the kitchen which is used to cut shapes in pastry to bake.

To make a Cardboard box, first you need the corrugated board to make into a box. Corrugated board is generally made of three pieces of paper bonded together with a starch adhesive. The two outer layers (liners) remain flat any way the middle layer of paper is made wavy (known as fluting) this gives the stock its compel and is now called corrugated board.

RC Helicopter

The most common types of corrugated board are singular wall, which uses three pieces of paper to make it with the middle layer being the fluting (wavy). There are also double wall boxes these are made up from two singular walled layers, so you have 3 paper liners sandwiched with two sets of fluting.

Once you have your blank piece of corrugated cardboard you need to cut it to size, the size of the blank (this is the name for the uncut piece of cardboard) will obviously depend on the size of box you want to create. Say you want a box 305Lx229Wx229H mm (we always measure boxes by the length first then the width then the height) you would need to measure your box as: 305+229+305+229+50 = 1118mm wide against the fluting (the 50 measurement is left for the glue flap), by 229+229 =458mm height (with the fluting) The fluting always runs with the height of the box, to find out more on how we get those measurements see how to measure a box.

Once you have cut your bank to size you now need to cut your top and bottom flaps and then glue the box together using the glue flap.

You now have your cardboard box made to your exact size.
